Transcripted is a mash up between two cliche genres to create something new. The first is the match-3 type puzzle game, where you must match up 3 of the same color in order to break a chain, like Zuma. The other genre is the overhead shooter, which is how you acquire the colored blocks to break the chains in the first place. This creates a mashup that can be challenging in more than one way.
